Prep on Horizontal Stabilizer is done

April 12, 2011

In essence the HS is done.  I haven’t posted in the last few days because the work was stuff I’d already chronicled and you weren’t missing much.  The right side of the HS goes together the same way the left side did, only faster.

It is quite amazing how decisions you suffer over on one side of the build, you breeze by on the other side.  The right side took much less time to complete.

Next up for the horizontal stabilizers is final assembly and riveting.  I’ll need to get Michelle’s help with this because there will be lots of bucking to do.

Before I do that, though, I am going to tackle the rudder.  On Sunday I got the trailing edge wedge counter sunk and epoxied into place.  I am quite sure the epoxy is set.  It is time to start my double-flush rivets.  Goody, yet another moment of anxiety.
